The Jade Forest shell is the fourth and newest version of Tamagotchi Paradise, released worldwide on November 22, 2025. If you want dragons, tigers, tanuki, red pandas, and a bamboo forest full of creatures inspired by East Asian folklore and wildlife, this is your shell.

You start in the Forest Field. Unlike the other three shells which unlock their third field at Level 4 and second at Level 6, the Jade Forest shell unlocks in this order:
| Planet Level | Field Unlocked |
|---|---|
| Start | Forest Field |
| Level 4 | Land Field |
| Level 6 | Water Field |
Sky Field is not available on Jade Forest at all. Sky Kid cannot be obtained, and all Sky-exclusive characters (except Kuchipatchi and Horhotchi, who have Forest equivalents) are unavailable.
What’s Different on Jade Forest
The Jade Forest shell isn’t just a reskin — it has meaningful gameplay differences from the three original shells:
New field, new food types. The Forest Field uses three brand new food categories (Peking Meat, Bamboo Grass, Pomegranate) with entirely new food items that don’t exist on other shells.
New mini-games. Cloudy Coin Catch replaces Cleaning Dust, and the Matching card game replaces the Arrow guessing game. Matching is very similar to the card game on the Tamagotchi Pix.
New snacks. Be Dark Green Juice and Random Boba replace Be Green Juice and Random Jelly from the other shells.
15+ new characters. All Forest Field adults are Jade Forest exclusives — none of them can be raised on the other three shells.
Kuchipatchi and Horhotchi are shared. Two characters cross over from the Sky Field: Kuchipatchi appears as the Forest Chirp 2–5 mistakes adult (same as Sky), and Horhotchi appears as “Forest Horhotchi” — a pink variant of the Sky Horhotchi — as the Forest Roar perfect care adult.
Jade Forest items can’t be gifted to other shells. If you connect with a Blue Water, Pink Land, or Purple Sky device, you cannot give them Jade Forest exclusive items.
Ice Planet is Jade Forest exclusive. When traveling to other planets, Jade Forest players have access to the Ice Planet, where Nonopotchi and Yukipatchi can be encountered for exclusive decorations (Snow Flake Tiara and Snow Flake Wand).
The Forest Field: What to Expect
The Forest Field is a jade-colored bamboo forest set atop a tall mountain with waterfalls and lush vegetation. Inspired by East Asian mythology and wildlife, it’s home to tigers, tanuki, deer, water buffalo, red pandas, magpies, cranes, sparrows, shiitake mushrooms, peach spirits, napa cabbages, and a dragon. There are four Young species:
- Forest Roar Young (Peking Meat diet) → leads to Forest Horhotchi, Konkotchi, Tigaotchi, Tanoontchi
- Forest Toddle Young (Bamboo Grass diet) → leads to Lessapantchi, Kanokotchi, Suigyutchi, Panbootchi
- Forest Chirp Young (Pomegranate diet) → leads to Kachitchi, Tokipatchi, Kuchipatchi, Sparrotchi
- Forest Sprout Young (No/mixed diet) → leads to Shiitaketchi, Peatchi, Nappatchi, Rushraditchi
See the full Evolution Chart for which care level leads to which specific adult within each species.
Standout Forest Characters Worth Knowing
Lessapantchi is the Jade Forest mascot — a red panda (lesser panda) standing upright with a huge striped tail. It was teased months before the shell was announced when a cutout appeared behind prop bamboo at Bandai’s Tokyo Toy Show booth. Even with sharp teeth and claws bared, it looks adorable.
Tanoontchi is a tanuki (Japanese raccoon dog) that only becomes active on full moon nights, when it drums on its own plump stomach and dances. It’s the heavy neglect Forest Roar adult and one of the most characterful designs in the entire game.
Tigaotchi is a Bengal tiger whose roar is powerful enough to shake an entire bamboo forest. Sharp eyes, big body, permanent scary stare — obtained at 2–5 care mistakes on the Forest Roar line.
Kanokotchi is a sika deer that’s always running through the forest. Its name means “fawn” and also refers to the spotted pattern on deer — both meanings work at once. One with the forest.
Tatsutchi is the secret character — an East Asian dragon with a long serpentine green and yellow body, gold deer-like horns, and a pink frill down its head and tail. Poised in a misty bamboo grove and described as beautiful to behold. No disliked foods except default Pellets.
Peatchi may reference the story of Momotarō — the Japanese folktale of a boy born from a giant peach in a bamboo forest. A delicate soul that breaks down into tears on occasion, but peachy in spirit.
Tatsutchi: Your Exclusive Secret Character 🐉
Tatsutchi is the most visually impressive of the four secret characters and the only dragon in Tamagotchi Paradise.
How to get Tatsutchi:
1. Raise your Forest Kid and feed it Peking Meat, Bamboo Grass, or Pomegranate foods to evolve into Forest Roar, Forest Toddle, or Forest Chirp Young
2. While it’s a Young, connect to two different shell colors (any two from Blue Water, Pink Land, Purple Sky)
3. Tatsutchi will appear at the next adult evolution
Important: Forest Sprout Young cannot become Tatsutchi — it’s the only Forest Young excluded. Make sure you’re feeding a specific food type during the Kid stage. This gives you three out of four possible Young types to work with, so there’s plenty of flexibility.
Stats: Hunger drains every 90 minutes, happiness every 80 minutes, sick chance 30%. No disliked foods. One of the most chill characters to maintain once you have it.

Jade Forest Starter Tips
All three qualifying food types for Tatsutchi are available from your very first generation. You don’t need to unlock anything — just feed the right food during your first Kid stage and connect when your Young is active. If you have friends with the other shell colors, you can get Tatsutchi on your very first run.
Forest Sprout Young is your “default” path — if you only feed Pellets or mix food types equally, you’ll get Forest Sprout Young, which leads to the plant and vegetable characters (Shiitaketchi, Peatchi, Nappatchi, Rushraditchi). These are great characters in their own right, but remember they can’t become Tatsutchi.
Bamboo Grass foods require Egg Hunt runs — Bamboo Grass and Sesame Leaves come from the Forest volcano. Stock up before planning a Forest Toddle Young run. Bamboo Leaf Rice Cake and Sesame Pancake are cooked versions for extra food points.
The Forest Field’s sick rate is 30% — slightly lower than the 35% on Land and Sky Field characters. Your Forest Tamagotchi is marginally more resilient to illness after care mistakes, which is a small but welcome difference when you’re deliberately accumulating mistakes for a heavy neglect character.
Lessapantchi is the perfect care Forest Toddle adult — if you want the mascot, feed Bamboo Grass foods during the Kid stage, achieve zero mistakes, and max hunger and happiness 5+ times each as a Young. It was the first Jade Forest character revealed publicly and remains the most iconic of the new additions.
What Makes Jade Forest Unique
Jade Forest is the most coherent thematic shell in the Paradise lineup. While Water, Land, and Sky mix their fields together, Jade Forest players spend their entire early game in a single richly realized environment that feels genuinely distinct from everything else in the franchise.
The Forest Field’s East Asian aesthetic — bamboo, mythology, wildlife native to China, Japan, and surrounding regions — gives it a visual identity that stands apart. Tigaotchi feels like it belongs in a different game from Gusokutchi or Shigemi-san, and that contrast is part of what makes collecting across all four shells worthwhile.
The exclusive Tatsutchi secret character is arguably the best-designed secret character in the game. A dragon that lives in a misty bamboo grove, obtained by connecting three shells together during a 24-hour window, with no disliked foods and extremely relaxed care requirements once you have it — it’s the perfect reward for the extra effort the Jade Forest shell demands.
