Tamagotchi Paradise has two completely separate mini-game systems that do completely different things. A lot of players spend time on the wrong ones and wonder why their Tamagotchi’s happiness isn’t moving. This guide breaks down every game, what it actually does, and which ones are worth your time for which goal.
Two Game Systems, Two Different Purposes
Tama Field Games — played in the field with your Tamagotchi present. These increase your Tamagotchi’s happiness but earn no Gotchi Points.
Lab Mode Games — accessed by holding the dial to enter Lab Mode. These earn Gotchi Points but do not increase happiness at all. They can be played even while your Tamagotchi is asleep.
These two systems do not overlap. If you want happiness, play Field Games. If you want currency, play Lab Games. Knowing this alone will save you a lot of frustration.
Tama Field Games (Happiness Builders)
There are three Field Games, each with a different happiness payout and time investment.
UFO Game (3 UFOs)
Three UFOs appear at the top of the screen. One of them beams your Tamagotchi up — you have to guess which one before it happens.
Happiness gained:
– Win: +10 bars
– Lose: +5 bars
Verdict: Play this one. Always. The UFO game is the most efficient happiness builder in the game by a significant margin. Even when you lose, you still gain 5 bars — and wins give you 10. If your goal is keeping happiness maxed (which it should be for perfect care runs), UFO is your go-to. It’s fast, the payout is high regardless of outcome, and you can chain multiple plays quickly.
Flags Game
Your Tamagotchi holds up a white or red flag. You press A for white (left flag) or B for red (right flag). Ten rounds total, with the Tamagotchi trying to trick you by raising flags halfway or lowering both. If both flags go down, don’t press anything.
Happiness gained:
– Win: +10 bars
– Lose: smaller gain
Verdict: Decent, but slower than UFO. The Flags game has the same win payout as UFO but requires active attention across ten rounds rather than a quick single guess. It’s fine if you enjoy the challenge, but for pure efficiency UFO wins every time.
Arrow Game (original shells only)
A callback to the classic Left or Right game on the original Tamagotchi. Guess whether your Tamagotchi will face left or right — at least 3 out of 5 correct guesses counts as a win.
Happiness gained:
– Win: +5 bars
– Lose: +1 bar
Verdict: Skip this for happiness building. The Arrow game has the lowest payout of the three Field Games. Even a win only gives 5 bars — half of what UFO gives on a win, and the same as losing at UFO. Unless you enjoy it, there’s no efficiency reason to play Arrow over UFO.
Jade Forest note: Arrow is replaced by the Matching card game on the Jade Forest shell. Three cards face down, the Tamagotchi picks one, you pick one of the remaining two, and you score a point if they match. Three rounds total. Similar happiness payout to Arrow.
Lab Mode Games (Gotchi Point Earners)
Lab Mode games earn currency and have a 3-star scoring system borrowed from the Tamagotchi Uni. Better scores earn more points. Three difficulty levels exist for each game — Easy is unlocked from the start, Normal unlocks at Planet Level 6, and Hard unlocks at Planet Level 9.
None of these games increase happiness. Play them for money, not for care.
Feeding Baby Milk!
Baby Tamagotchi appear and cry to be fed. Press A to move the milk bottle, B to feed. Win by feeding 10 babies.
Good for: Steady Gotchi Point income. Easy to get into a rhythm once you learn the timing.
Delivering Vitamin!
Move a vitamin through a vessel using the A/B buttons or the dial, jumping between platforms without falling. Red blood cells boost your jump height, lymphocytes move around, orange bubbles can only be jumped on once.
Good for: Higher point ceiling than Feeding Baby Milk at Hard difficulty. Requires more focus but rewards it with better payouts.
Cleaning Dust! (original shells only)
Clean dust from surfaces before time runs out.
Good for: Quick runs when you just need a little extra currency.
Jade Forest note: Cleaning Dust is replaced by Cloudy Coin Catch — an exclusive mini-game where you catch falling coins. Same role in the economy, different mechanic.
Walking Game (Tama Walk)
Your Tamagotchi walks in a top-down environment. Rotate the dial to change direction and help avoid ghosts and obstacles while finding treasure.
Good for: Using the dial mechanic in a fun way. Solid points at higher difficulties.
Difficulty Levels and Unlocks
| Difficulty | Unlock Requirement | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Easy | Available from start | Base point rate |
| Normal | Planet Level 6 | Higher rate |
| Hard | Planet Level 9 | Highest rate |
Getting to Planet Level 9 unlocks the full earning potential of Lab Games. Another reason to do the Bbmarutchi level grind early.
Happiness: How the Meter Works
Your Tamagotchi’s happiness meter has 20 bars. It depletes over time based on the character’s specific stat (anywhere from every 20 minutes for the neediest to every 90 minutes for the most relaxed).
Ways to fill happiness:
– UFO game win: +10 bars (fastest method)
– UFO game loss: +5 bars
– Flags game win: +10 bars
– Snacks: +1 bar each
– Liked food: +1 bonus bar
– Outside toys: happiness from field interactions
For perfect care runs, UFO games and regular snacks is the most reliable combo to keep happiness maxed and build up sun icons in the Tama Cell.
What to Spend Gotchi Points On
- Food and snacks (sale days: 5th, 15th, 25th)
- Outside toys and planet decorations (sale days: 10th, 20th, 30th)
- Tama Sitter — prevents care mistakes when you can’t check in
- Cooking ingredients for higher-value meals
- Love Love Ice Cream for guaranteed breeding
The Tama Sitter is the highest-value purchase during a perfect care run. Love Love Ice Cream is second if you’re actively breeding.
