Who Is Shiitaketchi?
A shiitake mushroom â wide-capped, dark-gilled, and carrying the forest-floor gravity of something that grows in darkness, breaks down matter, and makes the ecosystem work. Shiitake (æ¤è¸) is the Japanese name for one of the world’s most cultivated mushrooms, and it’s a Forest Field character in the most literal sense: shiitake grow on dead logs in forest environments, connect root systems, and are the quiet infrastructure of the woodland floor.
The perfect-care result for the Forest Field’s Forest Sprout Species, the default-pellet path. Shiitaketchi is the character you get when you feed only Pellets during Kid and maintain perfect care through Young â and the result is a mushroom. The Forest Sprout path is the only no-food-type path in the Forest Field, paralleling the Sky Field’s Rocky Species in requiring deliberate feeding restraint.

How to Get Shiitaketchi
Step 1 â Be on the Jade Forest shell
The Forest Field is only available on the Jade Forest shell among the 2025 Paradise launch lineup.
Step 2 â Feed default pellets during the Kid stage
The Forest Sprout Species path requires no dominant food type â feed default Pellets or a deliberately mixed diet so that no single food icon dominates in your Tama Cell.
The simplest approach: only feed default Pellets throughout the Kid stage. Your Tamagotchi will evolve into Forest Sprout Young without any food-type icon appearing.
If you’ve accidentally built up one food type (Peking Meat, Bamboo Grass, or Pomegranate), switching to Pellets will dilute it over time. Switching fields clears all food icons instantly.
Step 3 â Hit the right care level
Requirement: Zero care mistakes AND hunger maxed 5+ times AND happiness maxed 5+ times during the Young stage.
What perfect care actually requires:
1. Zero total care mistakes across the Kid and Young stages combined
2. Hunger meter maxed at least 5 times during the Young stage
3. Happiness meter maxed at least 5 times during the Young stage
Zero mistakes without the meter maxes gives Peatchi (0â1 bracket) instead.
How to max the meters efficiently:
â Play the UFO mini-game for +10 happiness per win â fastest method
â Feed proactively to accumulate rice ball icons
â Check Cell View for 5 rice ball and 5 sun icons before evolution

All four Forest Sprout adults come from Forest Sprout Young, raised in the Forest Field on a default or mixed diet during the Kid stage (no dominant food type).
| Character | How to Get |

| Shiitaketchi â you are here | Perfect care â 0 mistakes + Hunger maxed 5Ã+ + Happy maxed 5Ã+ |
| Peatchi | Near-perfect â 0â1 total mistakes |
| Nappatchi | Moderate neglect â 2â5 total mistakes |
| Rushraditchi | Heavy neglect â 6+ total mistakes |
Key reminder: Care mistakes are cumulative from the Kid stage onward.
Fun Facts
The shiitake mushroom has been cultivated in Japan and China for over a thousand years and holds a particular place in East Asian cuisine and traditional medicine. As a Forest Field character, Shiitaketchi represents something that doesn’t eat â it decomposes. The Forest Sprout Species’ entire character roster (mushroom, peach, napa cabbage, daikon radish) is built around plant and fungal life rather than animals, making it the most botanically unusual evolutionary line in the game. A perfect-care mushroom is also a subtle design statement: the organism that thrives in silence, without active intervention, on nutrients already present in the environment â but it still takes perfect care to reach.
Food Preferences
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Favorite type | Forest floor/umami items â Rice Ball, Sesame Leaf, Bamboo Shoot, Mochi (earth-toned, earthy flavors) |
| Disliked foods | Bright/sweet items â Honey Cake, Sweet Roll, Pomegranate Juice trigger rejection |
| Note | A mushroom preferring earthy, savory items over bright sweets is consistent with the character’s design direction. Thematic inference; verify in-game. |
Personality & Raising Tips
Drain rates aren’t yet documented for Shiitaketchi in the English community. Once confirmed, this section will update with specific maintenance guidance.
The Forest Sprout path requires no specific food sourcing during Kid â only default Pellets. This makes the path the least preparation-intensive in the Forest Field. No specific food items to stock; just avoid building any food-type icon.
For intentional Shiitaketchi runs: Pellets only during Kid, then full perfect care through Young â zero mistakes, hunger maxed 5 times, happiness maxed 5 times. UFO mini-game for happiness maxes, proactive feeding for hunger maxes. The default-pellet restriction during Kid means no food preparation overhead, making the path’s only challenge the perfect care standard itself.
Personality in lore: Still, patient, and operating on a timetable that has nothing to do with urgency. Shiitaketchi doesn’t move quickly â it grows. It’s the character that rewards a particular kind of sustained, quiet attention without demanding visible engagement. Fans describe it as “the most forest-native character in the Forest Field” â a creature that belongs to the ecosystem rather than visiting it.
Who Should Raise Shiitaketchi?
Shiitaketchi is for dedicated players who can commit to zero care mistakes and full meter maxing during the Young stage. The Forest Sprout path has the lowest logistical overhead in the Forest Field â no specific food items to buy, just default Pellets during Kid â so the challenge is entirely the perfect-care execution itself. Drain rates are not yet confirmed, which means the exact check-in demands are pending, but the perfect-care bar applies regardless. You must own the Jade Forest shell. The 30% sick chance is the Forest Field’s standard structural advantage: any illness during the perfect-care push is less likely here than on other fields’ 35%.
How Shiitaketchi Compares
Shiitaketchi’s exact drain rates are not yet documented. Among Forest Sprout siblings, Peatchi (50/80) is the main documented near-perfect reference, and Nappatchi (70/80) gives the moderate-neglect baseline. As the perfect-care result, Shiitaketchi might be expected to have the most comfortable drain profile in its line â possibly near the 60â80m range per meter â but this is unconfirmed. The Forest Sprout path is uniquely logistically simple (no food prep, no shop sourcing required), making Shiitaketchi the perfect-care character with the most accessible unlock path in the Forest Field from a preparation standpoint. The 30% sick chance is the standard Forest Field advantage that all Forest Sprout characters share.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does perfect care on the default-pellet path give a mushroom?
The Forest Sprout Species is the Forest Field’s version of the “what happens when you don’t specialize” path, and the plant/fungal roster reflects that: without a specific food type pushing development toward animal forms, the result is vegetable and fungal life. The mushroom at the top of this line is the most ecologically specific â it’s not just a plant, it’s the organism that makes the forest function. Perfect care + no food specialization = the most fundamental forest life form.
Can Shiitaketchi appear on other shells?
No â the Forest Field is exclusive to the Jade Forest shell among the 2025 launch lineup.
Can Shiitaketchi breed?
Yes. All adults in Tamagotchi Paradise can breed with any compatible adult of the opposite gender. After breeding, the egg hatches into Babymarutchi and the evolution cycle starts fresh â the baby’s adult form depends on your field, food, and care choices, not on which parents bred.
About This Character’s Field
The Forest Field is the home field of the Jade Forest shell and is not available on other 2025 launch shells. Forest Field characters have Peking Meat, Bamboo Grass, Pomegranate, and Default Pellet evolution paths. All Forest Field characters have a 30% sick chance (with one exception).
