Who Is Nappatchi?

A napa cabbage — layered, pale-green, and carrying the specific energy of something that is both humble and fundamentally important to everything happening around it. Hakusai (白菜) is Japanese for napa cabbage, but Nappatchi uses nappa (菜っ葉, leafy greens) as its root — a softer, more affectionate rendering. The design is a cabbage that has clearly been thriving on its own terms, layered and full.

The moderate-neglect result for the Forest Field’s Forest Sprout Species. A napa cabbage in the moderate-neglect bracket is quietly perfect: it’s the vegetable that grows in fields with minimal attention, forms the base of kimchi and hotpots and countless daily dishes, and is never remarkable on its own but somehow essential to everything. It didn’t need careful cultivation to become what it is.

Stats

Stat Value
Hunger drops every 70 min
Happiness drops every 80 min
Sick chance after care mistake 30%

Nappatchi’s 70/80-minute split is one of the most comfortable in the Forest Sprout line — both meters drain slowly, and neither demands urgent attention. Despite being a moderate-neglect character, it’s among the more relaxed Forest Sprout adults to maintain.

How to Get Nappatchi

Step 1 — Be on the Jade Forest shell
The Forest Field is only available on the Jade Forest shell among the 2025 Paradise launch lineup.

Step 2 — Feed default pellets during the Kid stage
The Forest Sprout Species path requires no dominant food type — feed default Pellets only so that no food-type icon appears in your Tama Cell.

If you’ve accidentally built up one food type (Peking Meat, Bamboo Grass, or Pomegranate), switch to Pellets to dilute it. Switching fields clears all food icons instantly.

Step 3 — Hit the right care level
Requirement: 2 to 5 total care mistakes across the Kid and Young stages combined.

How to accumulate care mistakes intentionally:
Let hunger or happiness hit zero, wait for the attention call, then wait an additional 15 minutes before responding. Repeat until you have 2–5 spiral icons in Cell View. Stop at 5 — one more pushes into Rushraditchi territory.

Track your count: Zoom into Cell View. Each spiral icon = one care mistake.

Fun Facts

Napa cabbage is the base ingredient of kimchi — and appears in Japanese hotpot, stir-fry, and pickled dishes across the region. It’s the vegetable of everyday life in East Asian cuisine, present in meals that span all income levels and occasions. As the moderate-neglect Forest Sprout result, Nappatchi represents exactly this: something that doesn’t need special treatment to be valuable, that grows in ordinary conditions and shows up reliably when needed. The 70/80-minute stat split reflects this — comfortable, sturdy, unhurried.

Food Preferences

Category Details
Favorite type Fermented/preserved items — Sesame Leaf, Bamboo Shoot, Rice Ball (fermentation-adjacent, earthy flavors consistent with napa’s culinary uses)
Disliked foods Rich meat items — Big Meat, Steak, Chashu Pork trigger rejection
Note A napa cabbage preferring plant-forward, earthy foods over meat is directly aligned with its culinary context. Thematic inference; verify in-game.

Personality & Raising Tips

Nappatchi’s 70/80-minute split is remarkably relaxed for a moderate-neglect character. Check in roughly every 70 minutes for feeding, every 80 minutes for happiness — and neither timer is particularly urgent. The care schedule is among the least demanding in the Forest Sprout line despite the 2–5 mistake requirement for unlocking.

The Forest Sprout path requires only default Pellets during Kid — no food items to stock. Combined with Nappatchi’s comfortable adult stats, this makes it one of the least logistically demanding Forest Field characters overall.

For intentional Nappatchi runs: Pellets only during Kid, then 2–5 deliberate mistakes during Young. Wide bracket (4-mistake window), controlled methodology. The 30% sick chance gives slightly more margin than other fields during the accumulation phase.

Personality in lore: Steady, unassuming, and quietly indispensable. Nappatchi doesn’t need to announce its value — it simply shows up, holds together whatever is around it, and keeps things running. In a field full of mythological foxes, tigers, and sacred birds, Nappatchi is the napa cabbage — and it’s fine with that.

Who Should Raise Nappatchi?

Nappatchi is ideal for casual and relaxed players — and it’s one of the best recommendations in the entire Forest Field for players who miss occasional care calls. The 70/80-minute drain split is exceptionally comfortable for a moderate-neglect character: both meters drain slowly, and neither demands frantic check-ins. The 2–5 mistake unlock window is genrous and the Forest Sprout path requires no food prep. Nappatchi is the character where unlock difficulty and maintenance demands are most misaligned in the player’s favor. You must own the Jade Forest shell.

How Nappatchi Compares

Nappatchi’s 70/80-minute split makes it one of the most relaxed adults in the entire Forest Field — tied for slowest happiness drain alongside Lessapantchi and Peatchi, and with a 70-minute hunger drain matched only by Forest Horhotchi and Tokipatchi. For a moderate-neglect character, these stats are unusually comfortable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does moderate neglect give a comfortable maintenance character?
Nappatchi’s 70/80-minute split suggests a sturdy, self-sufficient character that has learned to manage its own needs — consistent with 2–5 mistakes of growing up without constant attention. The maintenance profile reflects the design: something that doesn’t need much, didn’t get much, and is fine.

Can Nappatchi appear on other shells?
No — the Forest Field is exclusive to the Jade Forest shell.

Can Nappatchi breed?
Yes. All adults can breed with any compatible adult of the opposite gender. After breeding, the egg hatches into Babymarutchi and the evolution cycle starts fresh.
