Bbmarutchi Speed Run Guide

So you’ve hit Planet Level 6 and realized that leveling up now requires raising a Tamagotchi all the way to adult each time. At the normal pace — Baby to Adult takes several days — reaching Level 10 could take over a week. There’s a faster way. A much faster way.

The Bbmarutchi method lets you get from Level 6 to Level 10 in one to two days instead of a week or more. Here’s exactly how it works.

What Is Bbmarutchi?

Bbmarutchi (pronounced “big baby Marutchi”) is a special character that only appears when you prevent your Babymarutchi from evolving normally into a Kid. It looks identical to Babymarutchi but much larger — basically a giant pastel yellow blob that never grew up.

The key thing about Bbmarutchi: it counts as an adult for planet level purposes, even though it’s technically still a baby-stage character. That means every time you raise a Bbmarutchi and it eventually passes on, your planet levels up — without you having to spend days raising a Kid, then a Young, then waiting for the adult stage.

The downside: Bbmarutchi cannot breed with anyone. It’s a permanent bachelor. To move on to the next generation, you’ll need to select New Egg from the Help menu in Lab Mode.

How to Get Bbmarutchi

The trick is to prevent Babymarutchi from accumulating 4 matching Field Cells. Normally, when a Baby spends 15 minutes in a field, it gains one Field Cell. Get 4 matching cells and it evolves into the corresponding Kid. To get Bbmarutchi instead, you need to switch fields often enough that you never accumulate 4 of the same type.

Step-by-step:

  1. Hatch your egg and wait for Babymarutchi to appear
  2. Immediately head to the Field View
  3. Every 12–14 minutes, switch to a different field
  4. Keep rotating fields for 4 hours total
  5. At the end of 4 hours, Babymarutchi will automatically evolve into Bbmarutchi

That’s it. Four hours of field-switching, then you have a Bbmarutchi that counts as a full adult for leveling purposes.

The Critical Rule: Never Exceed 15 Minutes

The 15-minute mark is the danger zone. If Babymarutchi spends a full 15 minutes in any single field, it gains a Field Cell for that field. Accumulate 4 of the same type and it evolves into that field’s Kid — which is exactly what you’re trying to avoid.

Switch at 12–14 minutes to be safe. Setting a recurring timer on your phone is the most reliable approach. If you occasionally slip past 15 minutes by accident, don’t panic — a stray cell here or there won’t immediately derail you as long as you don’t hit 4 of the same type.

If Babymarutchi does accumulate 4 matching cells, the evolution prompt will appear. If you ignore it three times, it forces an evolution into the Kid. At that point the Bbmarutchi window is closed for this generation.

How Long Does Each Level-Up Take?

With the Bbmarutchi method:

  • 4 hours to evolve Babymarutchi into Bbmarutchi
  • A short additional wait while Bbmarutchi runs its course
  • Select New Egg, repeat

Compare that to the normal path: roughly 1 hour Baby + 24–28 hours Kid + 24 hours Young + however long the Adult stage runs before you select a new egg. The Bbmarutchi method is dramatically faster.

Realistically, you can cycle through multiple Bbmarutchi generations in a single day if you’re dedicated. Getting from Level 6 to Level 10 over a weekend is very achievable.

What Unlocks at Each Planet Level?

Here’s what you’re working toward:

Planet Level What Unlocks
Level 1 Starting state
Level 2 Basic shop items
Level 3 More shop inventory
Level 4 Field switching + second field unlocks
Level 5 More features
Level 6 Third field unlocks + Normal difficulty mini-games
Level 7–8 Additional items and features
Level 9 Hard difficulty mini-games
Level 10 Maximum level — credits sequence (“Lab Staff”)

Once you hit Level 10 your planet is fully developed. From there, leveling up resets to a simpler cycle and you can focus on actually raising the characters you want without worrying about planet progression.

Bbmarutchi Stats: Be Ready for Neediness

Fair warning — Bbmarutchi is the most demanding character in the entire game to keep alive. It has the stats of a baby, not an adult:

  • Hunger drains every 5 minutes
  • Happiness drains every 10 minutes
  • 35% sick chance after care mistakes

During your 4-hour switching window, you’ll need to stay very attentive. This isn’t a “set it and forget it” strategy — you’re actively tending to an extremely needy character while also switching fields every 12–14 minutes. Plan to do this during a stretch of time when you can give it your full attention.

Tips for a Smooth Run

Set a phone timer. A repeating 12-minute alarm is the simplest way to stay on schedule without having to watch the clock constantly. Some players use 13 minutes as their sweet spot — far enough from the 15-minute cutoff to feel safe, frequent enough to prevent cell accumulation.

Do it on a day off. Four hours of active tending is significant. This is a great project for a lazy Saturday morning with coffee rather than a Tuesday worknight.

Have snacks and items ready. Bbmarutchi’s hunger drains every 5 minutes, so you’ll be feeding it constantly. Make sure your shop inventory is stocked before you start so you’re not scrambling to buy food mid-run.

Don’t try to breed during Bbmarutchi runs. Bbmarutchi literally cannot breed — the breeding option will be unavailable. Just accept that this generation is purely for leveling and move on. The good character runs come after Level 10 is unlocked.

You can still play Lab Mode mini-games while Bbmarutchi is asleep. Lab Mode games don’t count as Tama Field activity, so you can earn Gotchi Points during downtime without disrupting the field-switching timer.

Is It Worth It?

Absolutely. Planet Level 10 unlocks everything the game has to offer — Hard difficulty mini-games, full shop inventory, all field access, and the satisfaction of maxing out your planet. Doing it the slow way means spending a week in limbo where you’re raising characters primarily to level up rather than for fun.

The Bbmarutchi method front-loads the grind into one or two focused sessions and then frees you up to raise whatever characters you actually want. Most dedicated players do their level grind in the first few days and never look back.
