Who Is Kuchipatchi (Forest)?

The round, wide-mouthed character that has appeared in Tamagotchi games since 1997 — one of the franchise’s most enduring designs, immediately recognizable by its circular body and the prominent mouth that gives it its name. Kuchi (口) means “mouth” in Japanese, and the character’s whole visual identity is organized around that feature: a creature defined by openness, appetite, and a cheerful bluntness about what it wants.

Kuchipatchi appears in two separate fields in Tamagotchi Paradise: the Sky Field (Chirp Species, separate page) and the Forest Field (Forest Chirp Species, this page). The Forest version is raised on Pomegranate food, lives on the Jade Forest shell, and carries one important difference: its sick chance is 35% rather than the 30% that applies to every other Forest Field character.

Stats

Stat Value
Hunger drops every 30 min
Happiness drops every 90 min
Sick chance after care mistake 35%

⚠️ Two exceptions on one character. Kuchipatchi-Forest is the only Forest Field character with a 35% sick chance (all others are 30%). It also has the fastest hunger drain in the Forest Field at 30 minutes — and the slowest happiness drain at 90 minutes. Feed every half hour; play almost never.

How to Get Kuchipatchi (Forest)

Step 1 — Be on the Jade Forest shell
The Forest Field is only available on the Jade Forest shell among the 2025 Paradise launch lineup.

Step 2 — Feed Pomegranate during the Kid stage
Target food type: Pomegranate
Specific foods: Persimmon, Pomegranate — from the shop. Che Thai — cooked.

Feed until you have at least one Pomegranate icon showing in your Tama Cell, then switch to Pellets.

Step 3 — Hit the right care level
Requirement: 2 to 5 total care mistakes across the Kid and Young stages combined.

How to accumulate care mistakes intentionally:
Let hunger or happiness hit zero, wait for the attention call, then wait an additional 15 minutes before responding. Repeat until you have 2–5 spiral icons in Cell View. Stop at 5 — one more pushes into Sparrotchi territory.

Track your count: Zoom into Cell View. Each spiral icon = one care mistake.

⚠️ Higher illness risk during accumulation. Kuchipatchi-Forest has a 35% sick chance per mistake, compared to 30% for all other Forest Field characters. During the deliberate-neglect phase, illness is slightly more likely. Keep medicine stocked before starting.

Fun Facts

Kuchipatchi is one of Tamagotchi’s oldest and most beloved characters, appearing across dozens of games and merchandise lines since the 1990s. Its presence in both the Sky and Forest fields of Paradise is a recognition of its franchise-wide significance — it’s a character that belongs everywhere because it has been everywhere.

The dual-field appearance creates an interesting situation: both versions have 30-minute hunger and 90-minute happiness drain, making them statistically identical in maintenance. The only difference is the sick chance: Sky Kuchipatchi has 35%, Forest Kuchipatchi also has 35% — even though the Forest Field’s other characters all sit at 30%. Kuchipatchi-Forest is the sole exception to the Forest Field’s reduced sick rate, which gives the character a singular status: the only Forest resident that behaves like an outsider in one specific mechanical way.

Food Preferences

Category Details
Favorite type Sweet/round items — Persimmon, Pomegranate, Che Thai, Rice Ball, Sweet Roll (Kuchipatchi across all games is associated with sweet, round foods)
Disliked foods Spicy/sharp items — Grilled Meat, Meal Worms trigger rejection
Note Kuchipatchi’s franchise-wide food personality centers on sweet comfort foods. Thematic inference for specific items; verify in-game.

Personality & Raising Tips

Kuchipatchi-Forest’s 30/90-minute split creates a very specific care rhythm: feeding every 30 minutes is the primary maintenance demand, while happiness almost never needs active attention. Set a 25–30-minute feeding alarm and spend almost no time on mini-games.

The 35% sick chance (higher than the 30% typical of Forest Field) makes illness slightly more likely during mistake accumulation. Keep medicine available when accumulating mistakes intentionally.

Practical tips:
— 30-minute hunger is demanding — it’s the fastest in the Forest Field
— 90-minute happiness is the slowest in the Forest Field — games are rarely urgent
— The 35% sick chance is the one area where Kuchipatchi-Forest doesn’t benefit from the Forest Field’s sick-chance reduction

For intentional Kuchipatchi-Forest runs: Pomegranate food during Kid until the icon appears, then 2–5 deliberate mistakes during Young. Same bracket mechanics as all other moderate-neglect targets. The care rhythm post-evolution — feed frequently, almost never play — makes this one of the most feed-heavy adults in the Forest Field.

Personality in lore: Hungry, cheerful, and largely uncomplicated about what it wants. Kuchipatchi-Forest carries the full weight of the character’s franchise personality — it’s happy when it’s eating and patient when it’s not. The 90-minute happiness drain reflects that: it doesn’t need entertainment, it needs lunch. The Forest setting adds a grounded, terrestrial quality to what has historically been a fairly anywhere-compatible character.

Who Should Raise Kuchipatchi (Forest)?

Kuchipatchi (Forest) suits attentive players — specifically those who can maintain a 30-minute feeding schedule. That 30-minute hunger drain is the fastest in the entire Forest Field and will generate care mistakes quickly if you miss a window. It’s a good fit for players who are at their device frequently throughout the day and find feeding more natural than running games. The 2–5 mistake unlock bracket is accessible, but the 35% sick chance (unlike the 30% on every other Forest Field character) means illness is more likely during the neglect-accumulation phase — keep medicine stocked. You must own the Jade Forest shell.

How Kuchipatchi (Forest) Compares

Kuchipatchi (Forest) has the fastest hunger drain (30m) in the entire Forest Field — faster than even Tanoontchi (40m) — and the slowest happiness drain (90m), tied with Tigaotchi’s hunger. This creates the most extreme feeding-biased care schedule in the field: nearly all your attention goes to feeding, almost none to games. Among Forest Chirp siblings, Tokipatchi (70/60) is far more relaxed on hunger. Kachitchi and Sparrotchi are undocumented but unlikely to match Kuchipatchi-Forest’s 30m hunger extreme. The 35% sick chance is the only anomaly in the Forest Field’s sick-chance structure — all other characters sit at 30%, making Kuchipatchi-Forest the single exception that behaves like a character from a different field.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Kuchipatchi-Forest have 35% sick chance when all other Forest characters have 30%?
No official reason has been given. It’s the one anomaly in the Forest Field’s sick-chance structure — all other characters (except Kuchipatchi-Forest) sit at 30%. This may be an intentional character trait (Kuchipatchi’s hunger-focused lifestyle making it more susceptible), or it may be a data holdover from its shared design across fields. Either way, it’s confirmed game behavior.

How is Forest Kuchipatchi different from Sky Kuchipatchi?
Both versions have 30-minute hunger and 90-minute happiness, making maintenance identical. The only difference is the evolution path: Sky Kuchipatchi requires Corn food (Chirp Species, Purple/Blue/Pink shells) and comes from the Sky Field; Forest Kuchipatchi requires Pomegranate food (Forest Chirp Species, Jade Forest shell only) and comes from the Forest Field.

Can Kuchipatchi (Forest) breed?
Yes. All adults in Tamagotchi Paradise can breed with any compatible adult of the opposite gender. After breeding, the egg hatches into Babymarutchi and the evolution cycle starts fresh — the baby’s adult form depends on your field, food, and care choices, not on which parents bred.
