Who Is Panbootchi?

A giant panda — large, black-and-white-patched, and carrying the particular combination of impressive size and apparently unbothered temperament that makes pandas one of the most recognizable animals on earth. The name combines panda with boo (ブー, a low sound) and the -tchi suffix — a name that communicates big, warm, and a little goofy.

A panda in the heavy-neglect bracket has its own logic: giant pandas are famously low-energy, difficult to motivate, and operate on their own timeline regardless of external pressure. How to Get Panbootchi

Step 1 — Be on the Jade Forest shell
The Forest Field is only available on the Jade Forest shell among the 2025 Paradise launch lineup.

Step 2 — Feed Bamboo Grass during the Kid stage
Target food type: Bamboo Grass
Specific foods: Bamboo Grass, Sesame Leaves — from the shop. Bamboo Leaf Rice Cake, Sesame Pancake — cooked.

Feed until you have at least one Bamboo Grass icon showing in your Tama Cell, then switch to Pellets. The Food icon persists unless you switch fields.

Note: Both Lessapantchi (red/lesser panda) and Panbootchi (giant panda) evolve from the Bamboo Grass path — the Forest Toddle Species contains both species of the bamboo-eating animals, distinguished only by care level.

Step 3 — Hit the right care level
Requirement: 6 or more total care mistakes across the Kid and Young stages combined.

Let hunger or happiness hit zero, wait 15 minutes after the attention call, refill, and repeat until you have 6+ spiral icons in Cell View. Once you hit 6, Panbootchi is locked in regardless of anything else that happens.

The Forest Toddle Species’ bamboo-food path contains a quiet piece of design brilliance: the perfect-care result is the lesser panda (red panda, Ailurus fulgens) and the heavy-neglect result is the giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca). Both are real bamboo-eating animals; neither is closely related to the other (the red panda is in its own family, the giant panda is a bear). The evolution line takes the same food type and produces two completely different animals based solely on care level — connected by diet but separated by evolutionary distance. The boo in Panbootchi may reference the sound of something big and soft settling down — which is essentially the giant panda’s default mode.

Panbootchi doesn’t hurry, doesn’t worry, and doesn’t particularly care about the direction things are going as long as there’s bamboo involved. Fans describe it as the character most likely to be visibly comfortable doing nothing. It got here via neglect and seems to consider that a reasonable origin story.

Who Should Raise Panbootchi?

Panbootchi is for experimental players and accidental neglecters — the 6+ mistake bracket requires deliberate or sustained inattention to unlock. Exact drain rates are not yet documented, so maintenance expectations will be updated once the community confirms them. Heavy-neglect adults tend to be more demanding post-evolution than their unlock bracket might suggest. You must own the Jade Forest shell to access the Bamboo Grass path. The 30% sick chance is a genuine advantage during the neglect-accumulation phase — illness is less frequent per mistake here than on other fields’ 35%.

How Panbootchi Compares

Panbootchi’s exact drain rates are not yet documented. Among Forest Toddle siblings, Lessapantchi (60/80) and Kanokotchi (50/70) form the known reference points; Suigyutchi is also undocumented. Heavy-neglect adults across Forest Field tend to have faster drains than their neglect bracket implies — Tanoontchi (40/50) exemplifies this pattern in the Forest Roar line.
