Who Is Batatchi?
A cockatoo â not a bat, despite what you might think from the name. Batatchi has a prominent crest, bright coloring, and the kind of personality that makes noise and enjoys it. The crest rises when excited, which is often, because Batatchi is a character that finds most things worth being excited about.

How to Get Batatchi
Step 1 â Get into the Sky Field
Start on the Purple Sky shell, which begins in the Sky Field. On the Blue Water and Pink Land shells, the Sky Field unlocks at Level 4. The Sky Field is not available on the Jade Forest shell.
Step 2 â Feed the right food during the Kid stage
Target food type: Corn
Specific foods: Corn, Cherry, Piece of Corn â from the shop. Corn Flakes â cooked.
â ï¸ Device bug on original 3-color shells: The device screen swaps “Flap Young” and “Chirp Young” labels. Corn food gives Chirp Young (correct name) which may display as “Flap Young” on screen. Ignore the label â the evolution paths work correctly.
Feed until you have at least one Corn icon showing in your Tama Cell, then switch to Pellets.
Step 3 â Hit the right care level
Requirement: 0 to 1 total care mistakes across the Kid and Young stages.

Mistakes accumulate across Kid and Young combined â they don’t reset at evolution. Each mistake = letting hunger or happiness hit zero and waiting 15+ minutes after the attention call before responding.
Track your mistakes: Zoom into Cell View. Each spiral icon = one care mistake.
Important: Zero mistakes + 5 hunger maxes + 5 happiness maxes â Peacotchi instead. To reliably get Batatchi, aim for 1 mistake, or keep zero mistakes without hitting the meter maxing threshold.

Batatchi exists in a notable position on the confusion spectrum: two different Sky Field characters named almost identically â Batchi (bat, heavy-neglect Flap Species) and Batatchi (cockatoo, near-perfect Chirp Species).
