Who Is Chodracotchi?

A striking, colorful character with a design that seems to shift and adapt depending on the angle — fitting for a creature that only appears under very specific and deliberate conditions. One of four secret characters in Tamagotchi Paradise, one per shell, each requiring a different unlock method.

Chodracotchi has the aura of something rare that knows it’s rare. It doesn’t show up for everyone. The players who have it either stumbled into the unlock by genuine luck or went looking for it specifically, and in either case they tend to keep raising it again.

How to Get Chodracotchi

Chodracotchi is the most restrictive secret unlock in the game. Two specific conditions must be met during the Young stage:

Condition 1 — Lick Young only
You must be raising a Lick Young — the Young species obtained by feeding Bug foods (Meal Bugs, Meal Worms, Bug Cookies) during the Kid stage. This is the only Young type on the Land Field that can produce Chodracotchi.

Roar Young (meat-fed), Toddle Young (carrot-fed), and Sprout Young (default pellet) do not qualify. This is the narrowest secret-character filter of any shell — one Young type out of four.

Condition 2 — Connect to two different shell colors
While your Tamagotchi is in the Young stage as a Lick Young, connect to two players using different shell colors. The two connections must be to different colors — connecting twice to the same shell color doesn’t count.

The four shell colors are Blue Water, Pink Land, Purple Sky, and Jade Forest. Any two different colors (other than a second Pink Land) will satisfy this condition.

Once both conditions are met, Chodracotchi will appear at the adult stage regardless of care mistake count.

Step-by-Step

Step 1 — Get into the Land Field on Pink Land
Chodracotchi is exclusive to the Pink Land shell. You cannot get Chodracotchi on other shells even if they have the Land Field unlocked.

Step 2 — Feed Bug food during the Kid stage
Target food type: Bug
Specific foods: Meal Bugs, Meal Worms — from the shop. Bug Cookies — cooked.

Feed until you have at least one Bug icon showing in your Tama Cell. This produces Lick Young, which is the required Young type.

Step 3 — Connect to two different shell colors during Young
While your Tamagotchi is a Lick Young, make connections with two players (or devices) on two different shell colors. The connection type (play together, trade, visit) satisfies the condition — any connection interaction counts.

Step 4 — Adult stage: Chodracotchi appears
If both conditions were met, Chodracotchi appears at the adult transition. Care mistake count doesn’t matter — you bypass the normal care-level outcome entirely.

Why Lick Young Only?

Every shell’s secret character has its own quirk — Mermarintchi (Blue Water) accepts any Water Young except Float; Yayacorntchi (Purple Sky) accepts any Sky Young except Rocky; Tatsutchi (Jade Forest) accepts any Forest Young except Forest Sprout. Chodracotchi is the only secret that locks to a single specific Young type rather than accepting “any except the default.”

This makes Chodracotchi the hardest secret to obtain in the game. You need both the correct narrow Young type AND the two-color connection requirement.

Chodracotchi holds the distinction of being the most restricted secret character unlock in Tamagotchi Paradise — one Young type out of four on one shell. Players who’ve obtained it accidentally (by feeding bug food and happening to connect with two different friends) are a small and slightly baffled community. The deliberate unlock community is smaller but more enthusiastic about it.

The name “Chodra” doesn’t map directly to a single Japanese word, which has produced fan speculation about its origin. Leading theories include a portmanteau of chōdo (ちょうど, “exactly/precisely”) and a creature name, or a reference to a colorful animal type. Bandai hasn’t confirmed the etymology.

What is known: Chodracotchi breeds normally as an adult. It can pair with compatible adults like any regular adult character. Its offspring do not automatically inherit the secret-character status — you’ll need to unlock Chodracotchi fresh each generation if you want it again.

— Stock Bug foods before starting Kid. Meal Bugs and Meal Worms are available from the shop; Bug Cookies can be cooked.
