Zatchi — Sekitoritchi or Charitchi on Japanese units — is the one secret adult on the Tamagotchi Gen 2, a sumo wrestler unlocked through the plant-like adult Zuccitchi. The route starts the same way as Gen 1’s Oyajitchi (never discipline), but unlike Gen 1 the transformation isn’t automatic: you have to keep caring well for Zuccitchi or he simply lives and dies as Zuccitchi. Here’s the exact route on the re-release.

The Secret Character: Zatchi (Sekitoritchi / Charitchi)
Gen 2 has one secret adult with different names depending on version: Zatchi in English/International releases, Sekitoritchi in Japanese Series 1, and Charitchi in Japanese Series 2. He’s a sumo wrestler character and a beloved trophy for players who figure out the hidden path.
How to unlock him:
- Never press the Discipline button at any point during the entire playthrough — keep discipline at 0% throughout.
- This guides Tongaritchi (good teen) into evolving as Zuccitchi — a flower/plant adult.
- Unlike Gen 1 where Maskutchi transforms automatically, Gen 2 requires continued good adult care on Zuccitchi (0–1 care mistakes during adult stage, 0 discipline mistakes).
- With sustained good care, Zuccitchi eventually transforms into Zatchi.
Key difference from Gen 1: On Gen 1, Maskutchi transforms automatically regardless of adult care. On Gen 2, you must also keep giving good care after getting Zuccitchi. Neglect means he just lives and dies as Zuccitchi.
Zatchi can reportedly live beyond age 30 — one of the longest-lived characters in the franchise.
Japanese Version Differences
| Version | Description | Secret character |
|---|---|---|
| Japanese Series 1 (solid black egg) | Original Gen 2 programming | Sekitoritchi |
| Japanese Series 2 (black egg with white dots) | Updated programming; Nyatchi replaces Pochitchi | Charitchi |
| English / International | Uses Series 2 programming | Zatchi |
Step by Step on the Re-Release
- Raise Shirobabytchi and Tonmarutchi with 0–1 care mistakes so you get Tongaritchi at age 3.
- Never press the Discipline icon. Let every attention call where it refuses food and play expire. Discipline stays at 0%.
- At age 6, Tongaritchi becomes Zuccitchi (0–2 care mistakes, 2+ discipline mistakes).
- Keep giving Zuccitchi good care as an adult — 0–1 care mistakes, no discipline. With sustained good care he transforms into Zatchi.
Got Hashitamatchi at age 3? Zuccitchi isn’t reachable from the poor-care teen — start a new egg.
