Short answer: Buy White Glacier if you want the frozen Ice Field and its cold-weather characters first. Buy Orange Tropics if you want the sun-soaked Tropical Field first. Both then unlock the Forest Field and the opposite new field — your starting shell just decides which characters you meet earliest, plus one exclusive secret character each.
