There are now six Tamagotchi Paradise shells to choose from — four from the 2025 launch and two new versions from July 2026. They all run the same game, but each starts you in a different field and hides a different exclusive secret character. This guide compares all six so you can pick the right one the first time.
Quick verdict: Best all-rounder for beginners is Blue Water (easiest secret to unlock). Want the newest characters? Go White Glacier (Ice) or Orange Tropics (Tropical). Want the coolest secret character? Jade Forest, home of the dragon Tatsutchi.

How to actually choose
Do the field or the secret character matter more? Both. On the 2025 shells, your starting field unlocks two more as you level your planet, so you’ll eventually reach several fields. But each shell’s secret character is exclusive to that shell, unlocked by connecting to two different shell colors during the Young stage. If one specific character is a must-have, the shell is your only route to it.
If you’re brand new: start with Blue Water. It’s the flagship, and its secret Mermarintchi is the least restrictive to unlock (any Water Young except Float qualifies).
If you’re a legacy fan: Pink Land starts you in the Land Field — home of the franchise-famous Mametchi and Mimitchi lines. Its secret, Chodracotchi, is the most restrictive unlock in the game (Lick Young only).

If you want the coolest single character: Jade Forest, for Tatsutchi, an East Asian dragon and one of the best-looking characters in the game. Forest characters also have a slightly lower 30% sick rate.
