Bandai requires version 2.9.0 or higher for the Baby’s Dream DL Area, releasing 3 September 2026. Older lands work on earlier firmware, but each new ticket tends to require the version that shipped alongside it.
How to Update
From the care menu:
- Tap the Network icon
- Choose DOWNLOAD
- Choose UPDATE LIST
If your Uni shows an update prompt when you enter a ticket code, that is the same process — run it, then re-enter the code.
When the Update Will Not Run
Almost every failed update is a Wi-Fi problem, and almost every Wi-Fi problem on the Uni is the same one.
The Uni connects to 2.4 GHz networks only. It cannot see 5 GHz or 6 GHz at all — and many modern routers put you on those bands by default, so a network your phone uses happily may be invisible to the Uni.
- Your router must broadcast a 2.4 GHz network
- Stay within 2–3 metres of the router while updating
- WPA/WPA2/WPA3 are supported; captive portals and enterprise networks are not
- Hidden SSID: Settings → Wi-Fi → NOT LISTED, then scan two QR codes with your phone
- Android hotspot: turn mobile data off first, and use “BY DEVICE > AUTO”, not “BY PHONE”
The full walkthrough is in the Tamagotchi Uni Wi-Fi Setup Guide.
