What Is It?
The Tamagotchi iD L arrived in March 2011 as the direct successor to the iD. It refined nearly everything — up to 32 new characters plus returning favourites, smoother downloads, and more content — and is widely considered one of the best-balanced Tamagotchi devices ever made. A 15th Anniversary edition was also released.
Key Features
- 32+ new characters alongside returning fan favourites.
- Refined downloads and a deeper content library than the original iD.
- Polished day-to-day care that many collectors call the sweet spot of the color era.
- 15th Anniversary edition for collectors.
Is It Worth Getting Today?
Yes — it’s the connoisseur’s pick of the era. If you want one Japanese color device and value balance and content over novelty, the iD L is the one most veterans recommend. The catch is the same as the rest of the era: Japan-exclusive, so importing is required.
