Before your Tamagotchi Uni can reach the Tamaverse, you’ll need to charge it, set the basics, and connect to Wi-Fi. This guide walks through first-time setup.
First-Time Setup Steps
- Charge the Uni. It uses a built-in rechargeable battery and a charging cable — no coin cells to swap. Give it a full charge before starting.
- Power on and set language, date, and time. These affect daily and monthly events, so set them correctly.
- Hatch your Tamagotchi and get comfortable with basic care before going online.
- Connect to Wi-Fi from the settings menu (see below).
- Register an account if you want the full Tamaverse experience and download codes sent to your email.
Connecting to Wi-Fi
Open the settings/menu, choose the Wi-Fi option, select your home network, and enter the password. The Uni works with standard home Wi-Fi. Note that you can still enter the Tamaverse offline, but online features — events, downloads, and meeting other players — require a live connection.
Do You Need an Account?
An account isn’t required for basic play, but it is needed to receive download codes by email and to get the most from Tamaverse features like the Tama Portal. Use an email you check regularly, since codes are delivered there.
