Tamagotchi Uni Evolution Chart — Full Growth Guide

Every stage, every adult, and exactly how to get the character you want on the Tamagotchi Uni

🔎 Tamagotchi Uni Evolution Finder & Character Calculator

On the Uni, your teen sets the line and your care-mistake count sets the adult (mistakes are counted across the Child and Teen stages combined). Pick your teen, gender, and care level to see who you are headed for.

1 Which teen do you have?
2 Boy or girl?
3 How careful were you?

Care mistakes = missed attention calls, letting meters hit zero, or leaving it sick. They add up across Child + Teen.

Base roster only. Downloadable Tamaverse lands (Sanrio, Fairy Tale, etc.) add their own characters with their own requirements.

Unlike Paradise — where your Tama Field, food, and care mistakes all steer the result — the Tamagotchi Uni keeps evolution refreshingly straightforward. Two things decide who your Tamagotchi becomes: happiness (which sets the teen) and care mistakes (which set the adult). Once you understand those two levers, the whole chart clicks into place. Here's the complete path from egg to adult, plus the secret characters and the requirements for each.

The Five Life Stages

Your Tamagotchi Uni grows through five stages, and each one lasts a set amount of time:

Stage How long it lasts
Baby ~1 hour
Child ~24 hours
Teen ~24 hours
Adult Indefinite (until it moves out, marries, or is neglected)

The big rule that ties it all together: care mistakes are cumulative across the Child and Teen stages. A mistake you make on day one still counts when your teen evolves into an adult, so consistent care from the very start is what unlocks the top-tier characters.

How Evolution Actually Works

There are two checkpoints on the Uni:

Child → Teen is decided by happiness. When your child evolves, the Uni looks at your happiness level (and you can also force a particular teen by hitting an activity milestone — more on that below).

Teen → Adult is decided by care mistakes. Each teen leads to three possible adults: a "best care" version (fewest mistakes), a middle version, and a "low care" version. Make zero mistakes and you'll land the franchise stars like Mametchi and Mimitchi; let mistakes pile up and you'll get the goofier, more casual adults.

Two things worth knowing: an unhealthy teen can't become a healthy adult (mistakes carry over, so you can't redeem a rough start at the last second), and for the Tama Walk requirement, Tama Farm trips don't count.

Baby Stage

Every Uni journey starts with one of two babies, chosen at random (50/50):

Baby Gender
Yooyutchi Male
Niinitchi Female

Just keep it fed and happy — the baby stage is over in about an hour.

Child Stage

Your baby splits into one of two children based on happiness at evolution:

Child Gender Requirement
Welcotchi Male Happiness above 10
Mitsumarutchi Male Happiness below 10
Lionetchi Female Happiness above 10
Otamatchi Female Happiness below 10

Keep that happiness meter topped off and you'll get the "high care" child, which keeps the door open to the best teens and adults.

Teen Stage

This is where you start steering toward a specific adult. The teen is set by your happiness range — but each teen also has an activity shortcut that guarantees it regardless of happiness:

Teen Gender Happiness range Activity shortcut
Kuriritchi Male 15–20 DIY crafting at least 10 times
Labilatchi Female 15–20 DIY crafting at least 10 times
Gunchitchi Male 6–14 Feed snacks at least 40 times
Teftetchi Female 6–14 Feed snacks at least 40 times
Curltchi Male 0–5 Perfect score in at least 15 games
Tustustchi Female 0–5 Perfect score in at least 15 games

The teen you land on determines which "family" of adults you can reach, so pick your target adult first and work backward.

How to Get Mametchi (Perfect Care)

Mametchi is the franchise's mascot and the classic "you did everything right" reward. To get him on the Uni:

  1. Keep happiness above 10 through the Child stage (you want Welcotchi → Kuriritchi).
  2. Hold happiness in the 15–20 range so your teen becomes Kuriritchi (or hit 10 DIY crafts to guarantee it).
  3. Make zero care mistakes across the Child and Teen stages.

Slip to 1–3 mistakes? You can still rescue Mametchi by going on a Tama Walk at least 3 times (Tama Farm doesn't count). His female counterpart, Mimitchi, follows the Tustustchi line with the same perfect-care logic.

Secret Characters

Four special adults can appear from any teen if you meet unusual conditions — most tied to marriage in the Tamaverse:

Secret character Gender Requirements
Hypertchi Male Generation is a multiple of 5 · born from a Tamaverse marriage · go on at least 3 Tama Travel trips
Bubbletchi Female Generation is a multiple of 5 · born from a Tamaverse marriage · buy at least 3 Tama Fashion outfits
Shimasimatchi Male Born from a marriage between two Uni devices · make at least 1 DIY accessory as a child or teen
Yattatchi Female Born from a marriage between two Uni devices · make at least 1 DIY accessory as a child or teen

When you've met the generation-multiple-of-5 and Tamaverse-marriage conditions for Bubbletchi or Hypertchi, the Uni gives you a rainbow-striped egg to signal your Tamagotchi can evolve into one of them.

Don't Forget the Tamaverse Characters

The chart above covers the Uni's built-in roster, but the Tamaverse adds whole new casts. Each downloadable land — Very Berry Land, LoveMelo ♪ Concert, Sanrio Puroland, Angel Festival, Monster Carnival, Tamamori Fashion Show, Fairy Tale Library and more — comes with its own exclusive characters you can raise, each with their own item-and-food requirements. Heads up: only one land's content can be loaded at a time, and if you raise an adult exclusive to that land, you can't swap the content out until your next generation.

See our Download Codes & Items guide and Tamaverse guide for how to grab them.
