Sprout Young is a default — you get it by not committing to a food type, rather than by feeding something specific. That makes it the easiest Young to get by accident and the one most people land on without meaning to.
How to Get Sprout Young
Feed the default (no dominant) food type during the Kid stage. You need at least one default (no dominant) icon in your Tama Cell and more of it than any other type at the moment of evolution. Feed a few, watch for the icon, then switch to default pellets to save Gotchi Points.
| Field | Food type | Foods that give it |
|---|---|---|
| Land Field | None / mixed | Default pellets, or equal amounts of each type |
| Forest Field (as Forest Sprout) | None / mixed | Default pellets, or equal amounts of each type |
| Tropical Field | None / mixed | Default pellets, or equal amounts of each type |
To get Sprout deliberately, feed only default pellets through the Kid stage, or keep every food type perfectly balanced. To avoid it, commit hard to one type early.
What Sprout Young Becomes
Your care mistake count — cumulative across the Kid and Young stages — decides which of four adults you get. Perfect care means zero mistakes plus Hunger and Happy each maxed five times during the Young stage.
| Field | Perfect care (0 + 5×) | Near-perfect (0–1) | Moderate (2–5) | Heavy neglect (6+) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Land | Furawatchi | Potsunentchi | Tusushtchi | Shigemi-san |
| Forest | Shiitaketchi | Peatchi | Nappatchi | Rushraditchi |
| Tropical | Yashikitchi | Tropical Potsunentchi | Ananatchi | Avovotchi |
Secret Character Eligibility
No. Default Youngs cannot reach any secret character. A Sprout Young cannot become Chodracotchi, Tatsutchi or Manapatchi no matter how you connect. If you are chasing a secret, Sprout is the outcome to avoid.
Timing
The Kid stage runs 24–28 hours before evolving into Young, and the Young stage about 24 hours more before the adult transition. You can see your care mistake count at any point in the Tama Cell view — the squiggly-line icon.
