Who Is Kametchi?
A turtle-based character with a rounded shell body.
Walks and grows with slow, steady purpose. Doesn’t like to sweat the small stuff — a lazy fellow that many people don’t even realize is a Tamagotchi. Self-conscious about its size and alters its swimming speed to disguise how big it actually is.

How to Get Kametchi
Step 1 — Get into the Water Field Start on the Blue Water shell, which begins in the Water Field.
Step 2 — Feed the right food during the Kid stage Target food type: Seafood Specific foods: Seafood, Fried Fish, Shellfish — from Egg Hunt (Water volcano). Grilled Shellfish — cooked.
Feed until you have at least one Seafood icon showing in your Tama Cell. You only need one dominant icon — once it appears, you can switch to cheap Pellets and save resources. The icon stays unless you switch fields (which clears all food icons).
Step 3 — Hit the right care level Requirement: 0 to 1 total care mistakes across the Kid and Young stages.
How care mistakes work in Tamagotchi Paradise: Care mistakes accumulate across both the Kid and Young stages combined — they don’t reset when your Tamagotchi evolves from Kid to Young. So if you made 2 mistakes as a Kid and 1 as a Young, your total is 3.
A care mistake happens when: – Hunger or happiness hits zero and you don’t respond within the grace period – Your Tamagotchi gets sick and you don’t treat it promptly – You ignore the sick animation in the Tama Cell
How to track your mistakes: Zoom all the way into Cell View using the dial. Each spiral icon = one care mistake. Count them.
The sick risk: After certain mistake counts (1, 5, 7…), there’s a 30–35% chance your Tamagotchi gets sick at the next care event. Treat illness immediately from the Cell View or it counts as another mistake.
The maximum is 6 — once you have 6 spiral icons, you’re guaranteed the heavy neglect adult for your species regardless of what happens next.
Important: If you hit exactly 0 mistakes but also maxed both meters 5+ times each, you’ll get the perfect care character (Irukatchi) instead. To reliably get Kametchi, aim for exactly 1 mistake, or allow 0 mistakes without maxing the meters 5 times.

All four Glide adults come from Seafood Young, raised in the Water Field on a diet of Seafood foods during the Kid stage. The only variable between these four characters is your total care mistake count.

Key reminder: Care mistakes are cumulative from the Kid stage onward. Two mistakes as a Kid plus one as a Young equals three total — putting you in the 2–5 range.

Kametchi is one of the Tamagotchi franchise’s oldest recurring characters — a gentle, slow-moving turtle who first appeared in the original Tamagotchi line. In Paradise he appears as a near-perfect Water Field adult, obtainable with 0–1 care mistakes on the Blue Water shell (and any other shell with the Water Field unlocked via planet leveling).
He’s an excellent character for players transitioning from their first run to more intentional care strategies. Getting him requires the same near-perfect care bracket as Mimitchi on the Land Field — attentive but not obsessive. His 80-minute hunger timer is generous by adult standards, and the Seaweed food preference means you have eight distinct food items to rotate without penalty.
Personality: Kametchi is the archetypal patient, wise character in the Tamagotchi universe. He moves slowly, thinks carefully, and rarely panics — a sharp contrast to energetic characters like Mametchi or Yayacorntchi. In lore he’s portrayed as a natural philosopher who enjoys long swims through calm water and observing the world.
Raising tip: Stock the Seaweed Platter or Seaweed Roll as your primary food — they give the favorite heart icon, meaning each serving gives better happiness than a generic food item. Kametchi’s 80-minute hunger timer means you can check in 2–3 times per day and keep him fully fed without stress.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between Kametchi and other Water adults? Kametchi is specifically in the near-perfect (0–1 mistake) bracket on the Water Field. Perfect care gives Mermarintchi (secret character) or another perfect-tier Water adult. Heavy neglect gives different characters. Kametchi is the “good but not perfect” result for the Water Field.
Why does he dislike Seafood even though he’s a turtle? It’s a game quirk. His Seaweed preference reflects his herbivore/grazer nature — turtles in Japanese media are often depicted as peaceful plant-eaters rather than predators. The Seafood dislike separates him clearly from Seafood-preferring Water characters.
Can Kametchi appear on shells other than Blue Water? Yes — any shell that has the Water Field available (unlocked via planet leveling) can produce Kametchi, given the same 0–1 mistake care level and the correct Young species diet during Kid.
