Your New Tamagotchi Planet levels up as you play, unlocking new fields, features, and mini-game difficulties along the way. The leveling system changes at Level 6 in a way that surprises most players — and knowing what to expect at each stage makes the whole progression feel a lot less mysterious.
Why Planet Level Matters
Planet Level isn’t just a number. Each level unlocks something meaningful:
| Planet Level | What Unlocks |
|---|---|
| 1 | Starting state — Water, Land, or Forest Field (depending on shell) |
| 2–3 | Additional shop inventory, basic features |
| 4 | Second field unlocks + field switching becomes available |
| 5 | More shop items and features |
| 6 | Third field unlocks + Normal difficulty Lab Games |
| 7–8 | Additional items and planet customization options |
| 9 | Hard difficulty Lab Games (highest Gotchi Point earnings) |
| 10 | Maximum level — full planet development, credits sequence |
The two biggest milestones are Level 4 (access to a second field, dramatically expanding your character options) and Level 6 (full three-field access and Normal mini-games). Getting to Level 10 unlocks everything the game has to offer.
Levels 1–5: Raise Adults Normally
For the first five levels, planet progression happens naturally as you play. Raise your Tamagotchi through its life cycle, and when it eventually passes on or you start a new generation, your planet levels up.
There’s no special requirement during this phase — just play the game, raise Tamagotchi, and the planet grows alongside you. Focus on learning the evolution system, building your Gotchi Point reserve, and exploring your starting field.
Tips for the early levels:
– Don’t rush. The early levels are the best time to experiment with different food types and care levels to understand how the evolution system works.
– Stock up on foods and snacks using the sale day schedule so you have resources ready when you unlock more fields.
– Start doing Lab Mode games daily even at Easy difficulty — the Gotchi Points accumulate and you’ll want a cushion when the shop fully opens up.
Level 6 and Beyond: The Rules Change
At Level 6, the leveling requirement shifts. From Level 6 onward, you must raise a Tamagotchi all the way to the adult stage to advance each level. One adult = one level up.
This is when the pace slows down considerably if you’re doing it the conventional way. Baby to Adult normally takes:
– ~1 hour (Baby)
– 24–28 hours (Kid)
– 24 hours (Young)
– Adult stage (variable)
That’s roughly 2–3 days minimum per level, meaning Levels 6–10 could take two weeks or more at the natural pace.
This is exactly why the Bbmarutchi method exists.
The Fast Path: Bbmarutchi Speed Running
Bbmarutchi is a special “adult” obtained by preventing Babymarutchi from evolving normally during the Baby stage. It counts as an adult for planet leveling purposes, but only takes 4 hours to obtain instead of the usual 2–3 days.
The method in brief:
1. Hatch a new egg
2. Switch Tama Fields every 12–14 minutes (never 15+) for 4 hours
3. Babymarutchi never accumulates 4 matching Field Cells, so it becomes Bbmarutchi instead of a Kid
4. Planet levels up
5. Select New Egg from Lab Mode → Help and repeat
Using this method, Levels 6–10 can be completed in one to two days instead of two weeks.
The trade-off: Bbmarutchi is extremely needy (hunger drains every 5 minutes, happiness every 10 minutes) and cannot breed. These are purely level-grinding generations — plan a dedicated session and give it your full attention for the 4-hour window.
For the full walkthrough of this method, see the Bbmarutchi Speed Run Guide.
Reaching Level 10: The Finish Line
Level 10 is the maximum planet level. When you reach it, you’re congratulated and can view the credits by selecting Lab Staff from the Planet Level menu. Your planet is fully developed.
After Level 10, the leveling requirement resets to a simpler maintenance cycle rather than the strict one-adult-per-level structure of Levels 6–9. You can go back to raising characters purely for the joy of collection rather than for progression.
What you have at Level 10:
– All three fields fully unlocked and accessible
– Full shop inventory
– Normal and Hard Lab Game difficulties available
– Complete planet customization options
– Space Travel to all available planets
– Access to every character evolution path in the game
Space Travel: Visiting Other Planets
Once your planet is leveled enough, you can send your Tamagotchi to visit other planets to meet NPC characters and collect exclusive decorations. For the full list of every planet, who you’ll meet, and what you can bring back, see the Space Travel Guide.
